From the NYTimes:
Amazon.com is in talks with three Hollywood studios about starting a service that would allow consumers to download movies and TV shows for a fee and burn them onto DVD's, according to three people briefed on the discussions....
As previously reported, Amazon is also working on a digital download service for music and an Amazon-branded portable MP3 player to compete with Apple's market-leading iPod.

yeah, you can upload whatever you want into the slots, including movie files. sadly the only things that are automajically dealt with are jpg, gif, png, and mp3. I have been working on something for josh that will be able to start movies playing automajically, and I will put that on my list.

I also think that it would be nice if there was some sort of upload progress bar on the replace file things... I should look into implementing that.

re: the messageboard...first off, is it even possible to upload a movie file to one of the slots, and if it does go thru, does it start streaming automatically?

post 500 and 3 months of partymode (the messageboard) are coming up soon... any ideas for how I can make it better?

this is the todo list that I currently have...

- make a post form at the top of the page (possibly in a hidden div)
- adding comments to the posted files
- archive files
- switch the file system to run off of the database
- rss feed
- nsfw file option box
- how about a 'post to partymode' bookmarklet that automajicallly grabs the via info as well?
- sub-posts (threading)
- previous page link (thanks onny!)

does anyone have any other ideas? does somebody want to search the archives for me and pull all the ideas that I totally neglected? does anybody want to redesign the whole dang system?
