party shout

sorry the wire thread got closed, you can continue it in the replies here.

I am done with season 3 of the wire, I need to start watching it again. I got season 4 ready to roll as soon as I lift the weight that is LOST. Although me and billy have a nice method of just watching the episodes that have good summaries on lostpedia.

NICE tIMING TIVO!

For me, the first two seasons of the Wire are pretty much unwatchable. Mostly the first season, really. It all comes down to McNulty, who is in my opinion a really cheesy cliched character. Once he starts getting less important the show starts to get good.

anyway, i'm stepping off the soapbox now.

hmm - I've only started season 3 yann, but I really am enjoying the shift off of mcnulty and onto the other characters. but even in the first two seasons when he was a bigger focus, there's enough shifting around to make it dealable.

how many seasons of the wire is there? i know nothing. NOTHING.

there are 5. and the whole show is over now. which means it is safe to watch.

I finished season 5 a few weeks back and I have intermittently argued that The Wire is the best TV I've ever seen. That said, the show and the writers have such ambition, it succeeds with some characters and fails with others. Whatever you do just keep watching.

A small intro to Season 4,

Three great prequels released before Season 5, young Omar, Prop Joe, and McNulty's first day in Homicide.
