yeah... the germans fed us some heavy lunches. also, everyone finishes everything on their plate, which is good (not to waste) but you can get stuffed. two of the old guys in our training sometimes start nodding off after lunch. we're certainly not super exciting speakers, but i'd like to think the food was partially to blame.

the training went off pretty well, (yann, i was here with my boss training some germans to do voice of the customer research). due to some time constraints, we ended up having to cut things down a bit. we cut down the practice exercises so we could at least cover all the topics. most of the feedback we got was that the training was a bit too theoretical. oh well... most people seemed to like it, overall.

this evening, we went to checkpoint charlie and saw a bit of the wall and the site where the old gestapo hq was. berlin sightseeing involves a lot of downers.

re: carrot juice. I bought a large bottle of rhubarb juice at a store here. i've had rhubarb pie before, but never seen the juice. i've been having some every morning. it, um, tastes like rhubarb, which is pretty good.

"A 13th century charter was granted by Henry III (1207–1272) to the town of Great Yarmouth. The town is bound to send to the sheriffs of Norwich every year one hundred herrings, baked in twenty four pasties, which the sheriffs are to deliver to the lord of the manor of East Carlton who is then to convey them to the King.[8]"

mmmm... stale fish pasties. a king's delight.
