honestly i wish music industries and independent artists would stop trying to prevent illegal downloads and try to figure out some other way to make money off of their music. I mean i suppose people are trying to think of alternate solutions, but it doesnt seem like its THAT complicated.

I haven't given it a lot of thought, but i am sure with all the intelligent money grubbers out there someone could think of something other than trying to stop people from file sharing.

File sharing is supposed to be a good thing. It get's your music distributed to a larger crowd. Why would any artist want to prevent that? Music industries just need to figure out something else to rake in the dough.

Most signed artists make their money off of touring anyways, so i am not too worried about them. And independent artists (like my fav, ani difranco) is taking quite a blow from file-sharing, but one cant go against the current on this.

ok. ranting done.
