Clearly an "attack dog" VP pick, but he's also gone way too far in public statements before. Not an unexpected choice, though.
On foreign policy Joe Biden has his shit together. Did you listen to the NPR Democratic primary debate? I was pretty impressed with his positions.
Yeah, I agree that Biden's positions are great, and he's certainly served well in the Senate regarding foreign relations. I was a big Biden fan in high school, when Al Gore was not a very compelling political figure to follow up Clinton (oh how the tides of celebrity have changed). Biden seems like a good public servant and sharp thinker. I guess I am just concerned that those awkward & kinda tactless public comments he sometimes lets go could turn people off to the Dem ticket. Or give extra fuel to anti-Obama TV pundits who've already been anti-Biden for a long time.
i like obama's tough-guy pose when biden starts talking about mccain's low-road campaign about half-way in to this video. (caution, this link leads to a donation page with an embedded video. i've been asked by the obama campaign to get my friends to donate several times. um... i really don't care to, so give money if you want, but i really just linked to that page for the video.)
i think biden's passion will be a nice balance to obama's cool-headed-ness.
