hmmm... i dunno. the measured tone of this video is appropriate. modern democracy comes from a time when people believed that humans were rational and would make rational decisions. i think modern psychology would disagree with that. the swiftboating tactics play upon this irrationality, as does commercialism. isn't it time we just gave up on democracy?

btw, here's a scott mcloud comic on google's new browser.

UPDATE: the new browser just got released for windows. mac and linux coming later... http://www.google.com/chrome/

18 days from acceptance to withdrawal. Lets see if Palin can beat that record.

"Every Senator in this chamber is partly responsible for sending 50,000 young Americans to an early grave... This chamber reeks of blood... it does not take any courage at all for a Congressman or a Senator or a President to wrap himself in the flag and say we are staying in Viet Nam, because it is not our blood that is being shed." (McGovern) blamed his colleagues for having contributed to "that human wreckage all across our land — young men without legs or arms or genitals or faces — or hopes."

much of nixon's 1972 "dirty tricks" efforts were directed at ed muskie, the early democratic fav and a moderate. they were designed to make the more left-leaning mcgovern win the nomination, and lose the general.

[redacted] oops. that was definitely fake. sorry.
