i think its safe to say that none of us are into mccain. two things i would have liked to have seen from obama:
1. when his experience is undermined, he should point out that part of being a good leader is building a strong team (in this case, picking biden to be his second in command). this would help quell the experience issue, showcase obama as a team player, jab at mccain's "team", and give him something snappy like "we can't have four more years of some one who thinks he's 'the decider'".
2. obama could have framed how the current debt crisis relates to our international standing. foreign affairs has to be more than just who we bomb. ubs and deutsche bank want in on the bailout, we are already terrified of china dumping our debt, etc. he could have won points with his ideas of diplomacy in this area, where john mccain couldn't have just fallen back on war experience.
Stalemate. I dont think any undecideds would have been convinced to go one way or the other. Those of us who support Obama agree with what he said. But those who support McCain probably agreed with what he said.
I didn't think they went enough into their plans for what they would do and rarely answered the question given to them.
The part i "enjoyed" the most was when they disagreed of whether the U.S. should set pre-conditions that countries before sitting down to talk. I did not know that we did this, and i think it is ridiculous. How can we take military action on a country and not have our leader to speak to their leader before hand? Maybe i misunderstood that conversation but thats what it sounded like to me. And THAT is ridiculous, that is like having no foreign policy at all. But there was also a lot of semantic mumbo-jumbo in that conversation so meh.
ishan and i experienced first hand how a strong national defense is dependent on a strong economy while playing the tribal level of spore last night.
Awesome! Are you still enjoying the game?
