My top album of 2009 was actually from 2006...I just wasn't ready for it at that time.

Joanna will be releasing new stuff this year though (!), so I'll be fully prepped.

Also, I had to do the math: apparently I listened to Y's for 20,000 minutes during 2009 (13.9 days!?)

I really didn't like Y's (or Joanna) when the album was released – "why's she dressed all olden timesy anyways?"

She posted US tour dates today. I'm gonna have to travel and I know no one else who likes her. Anyone want to go to DC? Philly? Montreal?

Everytime I hear about Ys I get all breton nationalist feeling.

According to the highly inaccurate itunes play count, my most listened to album was Gillian Welch, Soul Journey, with the second being Go Go Smear the Poison Ivy by Múm.

In retrospect, I feel like I didn't listen to music this year. what have i become?

Aw i wish i could share my music visualization. But i don't use last.fm enough for it to be accurate (apparently i listened to Rachael Yamagata a lot this year and I don't even know who she is...).

I use pandora the most but it doesn't have a good visualization of what i listened to this year.

Joanna Newsom definitely came up a few times on both my last.fm and pandora queue and i gave it a thumbs up every time :).

All i know is i listened to a lot of Sufjan Stevens this year, because when it comes to music i am half a decade behind everyone else.

Also earlier this year my mother referred to my music tastes as "depressing". I am going to take that as a compliment because i think that what she was really trying to say was "calming and mellow".
