Picking up on Yann's classical music theme, here's a piece that I really love and happened to look up again yesterday. There's a tradition at Stanford to send new freshman out on a scavenger hunt in San Francisco. While in North Beach, my group walked into a church where a choir was performing this piece. It's one of a few indelible music memories I have. Of course, no recording can match my hyped up memory. There are probably better renditions out there, but this one isn't bad (and receives extra points for the awesome mustache seen at the beginning of the piece--apropos, as the piece was commissioned for a firefighters' chorus).

Oh Yann, you make the preparation of the daybreak's beverages so sexy!

I love how hard you swing this song and the waltz beat is a great change up. That hook is great too.

haha thanks dude. if I ever need an informed review of my music on pitchfork, i know who to call. you're the first person to mention the waltz bit (which i'm very proud of, and very glad you noticed)!

I'm also available for liner notes.
