party shout

Better early than... on time... errr... FRIDAY MUSIC THREAD!

And I will start it off with a Friday Music Mix!

Spring Mix
"32.7 minutes" (thanks, iTunes)

01 "Prologue: Rebirth" - Loop 2.4.3
02 "Don't Let the Blind Go Deaf" - Years
03 "David" - The Radio Dept.
04 "Don't Wait for the Needle to Drop" - Dosh
05 "Monotonija" - Aerodrom
06 "I Saw the Bright Shinies" - The Octopus Project
07 "Bobble" - Para One
08 "Zero Zero One" - Shambolish
09 "The Silent Boatman" - Parliament

And speaking of music, let me echo Onny in saying that CHRISTMAS DISCO MARIE SAGAN ROCKED OUT last night.

sweet! looking forward to this!

also, not music but seems to fit, here's a mini crappy video clip that shows the early stages of an awesome project i'm working on, making music with mushrooms and lasers.

Ironically (in the Alanis Morissette sense) I forgot to bring earphones today, so I can't enjoy any Friday music. But Yann, the mushroom vid looks interesting and I'll check it out later! Vaguely reminds me of a contemporary classical recording that my dad had on CD when I was a kid, called Music in Mycology -- I can't find who the composer was, but I guess the performance was conducted by this guy.

Where is everybody? :-( Friday Music Thread's the top hotspot on p.mode, usually. Bring on the YouTubes, ppl!

Oh right, Onny's in an Edward Tufte master class thingy.

Awww. At least you got comments from Yann! My friday mix last week got nothing. NOTHING. No body cared :(.

Also i haven't properly listened to the mix cuz i keep getting pulled away from my desk. Will listen now.

Aw Agata, I'm sorry that nobody joined your Friday jamboree last week! And it looks like such a joyous batch of songs, too... I'll give it a listen this evening at home!

And yes, I'm happy for the Yann and the Agata comments! :-D

related (next gen "X shreads" meme?):

there are a bunch of videos in this vein, the work of one man.

his BEP cover is unsurprisingly better than the original

oh man, i'm back and posting crap again... took this legit music thread and turned it into a fucking joke.

apparently I forgot how to write music in the past year. these things need more fills and stuff. songs I wrote in the past few days.

onny those songs are amazing. I am totally into the metallica one.

I am pretty sure it is one of those "mashups" I have been hearing so much about.

ah, most of you didn't see the weird orchestra I was in, but here is a video of a segment of our last performance:

Was that HiTEC's last performance or just your most recent performance?

eli.pousson posted 4 months ago

the last one. It was kinda a major pain in the ass to organize it (or so tENT said), and there was waning interest among the members.

the new captain ahab album is pretty amazing. a very concise review of a number of popular modern genres.
