So, when I was a kid, my parents had this Ananda Shankar album which includes covers of The Rolling Stones' "Jumping Jack Flash" and the Doors' "Light My Fire." I think I heard these versions before I heard the originals. Listening to them now, they seem a bit cheesy and thus, kinda cool. Check out all the crazy sitar and Moog action:
